Filmmakers Needed to Document an “Event” for The Battery
A three week old revolution's wish list: Warm bodies (in our awesome costumes) to help shape the course of history, a megaphone, a giant boombox, etc. and filmmakers to document the action. When do we need it? NOW! (or certainly by this coming Sunday, April 10th). See The Battery.us for details.
Monday, April 11 · Noon - 5:00pm at The Capitol Building
Tuesday, April 12th at the UGA Arches
Someday, when this is long behind us, I'll tell you where we've been and what we've done. Today, however, I have just enough time to announce the news of our upcoming action. I hope you'll join us. Here we go.

Greetings,
"A chicken, some cotton balls, and a poor migrant mother all got together..."
The Battery, a newly formed social empowerment group based in Athens, would like to invite members of your organization to join with us on April 11th and 12th when we will be staging an action (statewide, if possible) in an effort to stop the immigration "reform" bills being proposed in Georgia. Refer to our links below to read what Amnesty Int'l, the ACLU, and other respected organizations say about these proposals. Our aim that day will be primarily to attract more media attention to the issue and to publicly shame the policy makers that support this legislation.
We've got a little money to work with and tons of good intentions. Besides, we're right and they're wrong!
Let's combine forces. Let's let everyone know that the majority of Georgia's residents still are in possession of their hearts, as well as their minds. The legislative session ends on April 13th. We don't have much time to impact the vote.
Your contribution to this effort, no matter how small could make all the difference. At a minimum, call Gov. Deal at 404-656-1776. Express your outrage that such proposals (specifically HB87 & SB40) could have gain such momentum in the legislature. Also, remember to cut/paste/share this information with others. Be part of the solution.
For more information or to volunteer (wait till you see the costumes!) contact Maritza at

Keep talking. We're very interested.
