SOUND FOR $ - We got a note from filmmaker Jud Stacer who needs a sound recordist:
I am nearing shooting days for my 22-minute homage to It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia (It's Usually Sunny In Athens). I already have a production crew that will be shooting two cameras simultaneously. I am now looking to hire someone to do audio - must provide the multidirectional boom mic and recording device, and operate them for us during the shoot. Pay is a flat $300 -shoots will most likely be on Saturdays/Sundays.

EXTRAS NEEDED - Extras sought for Civil Rights Era re-enactment
Local filmmaker, Keith Plummer, is wrapping up work on a documentary, “Before the Memories Fade: Voices from the Civil Rights Movement,” which aims to take viewers behind the scenes of the Civil Rights Movement of the 1950s and 1960s.
Plummer has combed through historical film and video footage from the era, and has interviewed more than 30 civil rights veterans for the film, including several well-known names such as Eleanor Holmes Norton and U.S. Rep. John Lewis of Atlanta.
But Plummer also is filming re-enactments of marches and other events to help give the film an air of immediacy — including a civil rights march he hopes to film in Athens on Jan. 21.
Plummer and his film crew need about 150 to 200 people for the march, according to assistant producer Fabrice Julien, a University of Georgia student.
Interviewing the civil rights veterans has opened up windows into a different place and time for Plummer, who was for nine years chief photographer in the Washington, D.C., bureau of Hearst-Argyle Television. He moved to Athens about a year and a half ago.
“You don’t understand that the movement was ordinary people,” said Plummer, who now owns a video and film production company called Plumgood Productions.
Some people were college students who would come down to Alabama or Mississippi to participate in marches and other protests, then return to school on Monday for classes, Plummer said.
Other key players included hometown people who helped the protesters, he said — sometimes with advice, sometimes by hiding protesters or sneaking them out of town.
“The students came down, but they always had to meet with someone in that town who knew the lay of the land,” Plummer said. “Local people put themselves on the line. Those were the people who had to stay strong and be there when the students left.”
Plummer has completed most of the filming, but now must edit hours of film down to 90 minutes.
He plans to have the documentary completed in March and to have a first screening in April.
Meanwhile, he and Julien are looking for people to play civil rights protesters in a upcoming march re-enactment in Athens.
