Rural Route Film Festival - Call for Submissions

Call for submissions!!  Rural Route opens up a call for submissions for its 7th Annual Film Festival, to take place in New York City, Late Summer, 2011.

The festival highlights independent works that deal with rural people and places.  While so much media is set within the confines of big cities like New York and Los Angeles, Rural Route wants to showcase the many unique and extraordinary overlooked voices of the ‘everyday’ world.  We strive to put together an international community of like-minded artists that produce fiction films, documentaries, and experimental pieces from the fields, mountains, desert, and sea.  Topics include: progressive agriculture, outdoor adventure, indigenous issues, the environment, and travel.

The easiest way to submit is via withoutabox (where you'll also save $5 off the already low entry fee):  https://www.withoutabox.com/login/4184 , or you can download a submission form from our website at http://ruralroutefilms.com/submissions.html
.
Since we haven't been taking submissions for the past couple of years while touring, we want to stress that there is no completion year requirement for our festival!  We know that many terrific rural movies have been made out there in the past few days/months/years, and we encourage you to submit them to this year's fest!

Following our big year-long, continuous Nomad backpacking tour to all 7 continents, we also want to strongly encourage film submissions from abroad!!  You can still check out Rural Route Director, Alan Webber's travel blog at http://www.ruralroutenomad.tumblr.com while, he continues to sift through still photos, music, and video from the epic adventure.

Please Note, OUR ADDRESS HAS CHANGED.  Grand Central Station was gettin' a little too hectic fer us, so we've moved things down to 1010 VILLAGE STATION.
The full address is as follows:
RURAL ROUTE FILM FESTIVAL
P.O. BOX 1010 - VILLAGE STATION

Don't worry, our rural mail delivery trucks will be outfitted with the finest in snow tires to bring those submissions from your icy hills, mountains, and gravels on into us in Manhattan, even in the dead of winter.
